Lucy Bland is professor of social and cultural history at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. Her new book is an investigation of the mixed-race war offspring of black GIs and British women entitled Britain’s ‘Brown Babies’: the stories of children born to black GIs and white women in the Second World War. Lucy will talk about some of the issues raised in her interviews with these ‘children’, now in their 70s, particularly the racism they experienced and the search for their fathers.

In celebration of Black History Month 2019.
